PT Delta Giri Wacana Tbk (DGWG) Inaugurates Carbamate Plant to Support Food Security and Global Expansion

July 16, 2025
Serang, Banten – July 16, 2025 – PT Delta Giri Wacana Tbk (DGWG), an integrated agribusiness company, officially inaugurated its Carbamate Plant located in the Modern Cikande Industrial Estate, Serang, Banten. The inauguration ceremony was led by the Governor of Banten Province, Andra Soni, and the Director General of Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Textile Industries at the Ministry of Industry, Taufik Bawazier, accompanied by DGWG’s Board of Directors and Commissioners, including President Director David Yaory.
Occupying a 4.5-hectare site, the plant is designed to serve as a production center for carbamate-based pesticide raw materials and forms part of DGWG’s strategic transformation to strengthen its position in the upstream agrochemical sector in Indonesia. This is the third manufacturing facility operated by the DGW Group, following the NPK Fertilizer Plant in Gresik and the Plastic Mulch Plant, also located in Cikande.
"The inauguration of this plant is not only a historic milestone for DGWG but also a tangible contribution to national food security and the independence of Indonesia's agrochemical industry. We developed this facility with a long-term vision—not only to serve domestic needs but also to tap into promising global markets. With modern technology, a solid team, and a continuously growing market, we are confident this plant will become a new catalyst for DGWG’s growth and for Indonesia’s agricultural sector as a whole," said David Yaory, President Director of PT DGWG.
To meet both domestic and export market demands, the DGWG Carbamate Plant is equipped with the latest technology and adequate production capacity.
The plant will initially produce 2,000 metric tons of carbamate annually, which, when converted into finished pesticide products, is equivalent to 4,900 metric tons per year. Within three years, production capacity is expected to increase to 6,000 metric tons of carbamate, translating into 14,700 metric tons of finished pesticide products annually. Construction of the facility began in November 2023 with a total investment of approximately USD 20 million, covering physical construction, machinery procurement, and the implementation of high-standard production technology, according to DGWG Group Director Yody Suganda.
The Carbamate Plant features dedicated production and formulation areas, warehouses, filling and packing facilities, a modern laboratory, waste treatment systems, office areas, and additional utility buildings and supporting infrastructure. These include a temporary waste storage facility, a clinic, sports facilities, and more—all designed to ensure efficient and sustainable production processes.
The inauguration also marks the official commencement of DGWG’s new business activity in the agrochemical active ingredient industry, specifically carbamates—a line of business previously listed in the company’s Articles of Association but not yet activated. This business expansion was approved by shareholders during the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) held on June 23, 2025.
According to DGWG’s business feasibility studies and its Public Disclosure Report, the market potential for pesticide active ingredients in Indonesia is very promising. National pesticide consumption has reached IDR 16.4 trillion and is growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10%, projected to hit IDR 25.4 trillion by 2028. This data forms the basis of DGWG’s strategic move into upstream pesticide manufacturing.
“In addition to its strong business prospects, this plant is aimed at reducing DGWG’s dependency on foreign supply chains over the long term, enabling us to boost domestic output while ensuring better quality control through in-house production,” explained Yody Suganda.
This inauguration symbolizes DGWG’s transformation from a distributor of agro-input products into a national producer of pesticide active ingredients with robust export potential. DGWG remains committed to strengthening its role as a strategic partner to Indonesian farmers and a key player in the global agricultural supply chain.
