Accompanied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors from Eurasian Economic Countries and Latin American Economic Bloc Visit DGW Group Fertilizer Factory

February 13, 2025
Gresik – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Mercosur, visited the production facility of PT Fertilizer Inti Technology (FIT), a subsidiary of PT Delta Giri Wacana Tbk (DGW Group), located at the JIIPE Industrial Zone, Manyar, Gresik, East Java, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
Upon arrival at the site, the delegation, consisting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specifically the Directorate of American and European Affairs, along with ambassadors and diplomatic representatives, was welcomed by the DGW Group Directors, Mr. David Yaory and Mr. Arbi Munandar.
PT Fertilizer Inti Technology was one of two national fertilizer producers visited during this tour. According to the concept note presented, the purpose of the visit was to explore economic cooperation and free trade agreements between Indonesia and the EAEU and Mercosur countries, especially in the agricultural sector, as food security has become a government priority, as stated in Asta Cita (Eight Missions).
The two-hour visit included several activities, such as a brief presentation on the business profile of DGW Group and PT Fertilizer Inti Technology, a Q&A session, and a site visit to observe the production area and activities at the FIT fertilizer production facility.
The guests appeared enthusiastic after hearing the management’s presentation and directly observing the capacity and production capabilities of FIT. The ambassadors’ questions to the company included inquiries about the types of investments the company currently needs and for future development, as mentioned by the Armenian Counselor, Mr. Grigor Melkonyan.
In response to these questions, Mr. David Yaory explained that the company certainly requires investment, particularly strategic investments such as the development of urea fertilizer, given that Indonesia is rich in natural gas and coal resources, which can be leveraged in collaboration.
Brazilian Ambassador, Mr. George Monteiro Prata, expressed appreciation for the trade cooperation between the company and Brazil, hoping that DGW Group could provide its best agro-input products to its partners and consumers in Brazil.
Mr. David Yaory emphasized the importance of these countries in the national fertilizer supply chain. “The EAEU is crucial because for NPK raw materials, specifically the K element, which is MOP, only three countries dominate the international market: Russia, Belarus, and Canada. The supply is certainly limited, so maintaining good relations is very important, especially since Indonesia is currently dependent on supplies from Belarus and Laos.”
Furthermore, Mr. David Yaory hopes that this cooperation can complement one another between Indonesia and these countries. “Not only as an importer, this cooperation has the potential to make us an exporter. Currently, our group produces raw materials for pesticides, which have an enormous consumption in South American and Eurasian countries, so it is very important for us to build networks in these countries.”
Mr. Aulia Rinaldi Ahza, Coordinator of Function 2 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the visit to PT Fertilizer Inti Technology was due to FIT’s business capacity and existing business cooperation with EAEU and Mercosur countries like Brazil, allowing both parties to explore potential opportunities.
