Semarang – DGW organized a two-day talk show titled “Durian Solution” on August 21-22, 2024, in Semarang, Central Java. This event is DGW’s concrete step to support the growth of Indonesia's durian farming sector by providing a platform for knowledge-sharing among experts, academics, agro-supply industry players, and, of course, durian farmers themselves. The talk show delved deeply into innovative and practical solutions for various challenges in durian farming.

In collaboration with Leili Group and Durian Traveler Indonesia, the first day featured a talk show with several speakers. Mr. Jonathan Lee, Product & Business Development Manager of Leili Group, discussed common durian farming issues, such as soil pH imbalance, plant nutrition, surrounding flora, and the role of Leili’s biostimulant products as blue technology to restore balance.

In the second session, Mr. Jason Fong, owner of Sabacado Farm, the largest durian plantation in Malaysia, provided insights into durian farming from a commercial farmer’s perspective. Addressing attendees, he emphasized the importance of aspects like careful planning, understanding the market potential and production issues of different durian varieties, site selection, agro-input inventory management, technology utilization, and other tips for success.

The next session featured Mr. Ammar Muhtadi, Product Manager at DGW, who explained pesticides, their mechanisms, and pest and disease control methods using DGW products.

In the final talk show session, Mr. Sigit Purwanto, founder of Durian Traveler Indonesia, shared his experiences exploring Indonesia in search of and studying the nation’s various durian varieties. He highlighted Indonesia's potential to grow commercial durian varieties that could compete with market favorites like Musang King, Montong, and Black Thorn.

On the second day, concluding the event, DGW held a demonstration plot of Leili products—LEILI 2000, DIVINE 600, SOFTGUARD, and ROOTMOST—on durian plants at Fresh Garden agro-tourism in Gunung Pati, Semarang.

Mr. Ammar Muhtadi explained that the Durian Solution talk show serves as DGW’s pilot project to be conducted in several Indonesian cities, inviting speakers and experts skilled in durian farming.
